The Shishito chilli pepper is a Japanese chilli pepper and is ribbed lengthwise, just like a Spanish churro, with a relatively thin skin. The Shishito tastes more like bell pepper than hot pepper, maybe a little spicier. This hot pepper is picked young. The underside of the chilli pepper resembles a lion’s head, hence the name Shishito (reference in Japanese).
Shishito has a length of about 9 cm, a diameter of 1 to 2 centimeters and a fruit weight of 6 to 10 grams.
