The Naga Jolokia was once voted the hottest pepper in the world. Meanwhile, other chilli peppers have taken this place. The Naga Jolokia has its origin in India. One bite of this chilli pepper is similar to the bite of a king cobra. ‘Naga’ is therefore the translation of king cobra in Assamese (the region in India from which the pepper comes). The pepper has an orange, red or brown color and a rough skin.
